Host Hotels CEO resigns to become Hilton Hotels chief executive

Oct 29 (Reuters) - Host Hotels & Resorts Inc (HST.N) said Chief Executive Officer Christopher Nassetta resigned to become CEO of Hilton Hotels Corp, which was recently acquired by private equity firm Blackstone Group (BX.N).

Host Hotels said it named Chief Financial Officer Edward Walter as its new CEO, effective Monday.

Nassetta will remain with the company until the end of November to assist in the transition, the hotel real-estate investment trust added. (Reporting by Aniruddha Basu in Bangalore)
