Goodyear Tire in pact to sell most of Akron property to IRG

Dec 5 (Reuters) - Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co GT.N said it reached a tentative agreement to sell most of its Akron, Ohio property and facilities to the Industrial Realty Group (IRG).

IRG will construct a new world headquarters building, a new headquarters for the company’s North American Tire business, and make improvements to the company’s technical center and research facilities, the largest U.S. tire maker said in a statement.

Goodyear said it will lease the new buildings and the existing technical center from IRG. (Reporting by Shikhar Balwani in Bangalore; Editing by Deepak Kannan)
