Dec 21 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 2100 GMT on Friday.

** Philips Electronics NV is to buy U.S. medical products company Respironics Inc for 3.6 billion euros ($5.2 billion), its biggest ever acquisition, as it expands in the fast-growing healthcare sector.

** Vimpelcom VIP.N, the number two cellphone operator in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, is buying Golden Telecom GLDN.O for $4.3 billion to create the region’s first integrated fixed-to-mobile provider. [nL21624240]

** India’s Tata Motors (TAMO.BO) is set to be named as the preferred buyer for Ford Motor’s (F.N) luxury brands Jaguar and Land Rover as early as Friday after beating rivals with a bid of around $2 billion, Indian and British media reported. [nBOM131578]

** Private equity firm Carlyle [CYL.UL] is buying a 35 percent stake in French cable operator Numericable for a little over one billion euros ($1.44 billion) and says a tie-up between Numericable and broadband operator Iliad (ILD.PA) could make sense. [nL21129286]

** U.S. private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts said it had agreed to buy British software firm Northgate Information Solutions Plc NIS.L for 593 million pounds ($1.18 billion). [nWLB5134]

** Brookfield Asset Management Inc (BAMa.TO) said it will buy a hydroelectric facility in Brazil from NRG Energy Inc (NRG.N) for a $228 million. [nN21285240]

** International Royalty Corp ROY.A IRC.TO said it agreed to acquire 16 mineral royalties from Rio Tinto Ltd/Plc (RIO.AX)(RIO.L) for $61.5 million in cash plus a potential contingency payment. [nWNAS5237]

** Real estate investment trust DiamondRock Hospitality Co (DRH.N) said it sold a 220-room otel to a private equity firm for $36 million, saying it was a non-core asset. [nWNAS5250]

** Loral Space & Communications Inc (LORL.O) said it agreed with certain units to sell their respective interests in Brazilian service provider Globalstar do Brasil SA to Globalstar Inc GSAT.O and would record a related loss of about $10 million. [nWNAS5249]

** British media group Emap EMA.L is to sell its business-to-business arm to a consortium of the Guardian Media Group and private equity firm Apax, the Financial Times reported on its Web site on Friday. [nWLB5215]

** Buckeye GP LLC, the general partner of Buckeye Partners LP (BPL.N), said it agreed to buy Farm & Home Oil Co for about $145.5 million in cash. [nWNAS5221]

** International Business Machines (IBM.N) Corp said it agreed to buy in-memory database software provider Solid Information Technology from private owners for an undisclosed sum. [nHEL006072]

** Eastman Chemical Co (EMN.N) said it would sell some of its polyester chemicals lines in Europe to Indonesian conglomerate Indorama for about $330 million as part of its strategy to divest non-strategic assets outside the United States. [nWNAS5182]

** British fund firm Aberdeen Asset Management ADN.L said it has agreed to buy German property investment management firm DEGI from Dresdner Bank (ALVG.DE) for 110 million euros ($158 million) in cash. [nL21477523]

** Morgan Crucible MGCR.L has agreed to buy two ceramics businesses from U.S. group Carpenter Technology Corp (CRS.N)for 73 million pounds ($147 million) in cash, it said, adding its order book remained robust. [nL21277505]

** Cigarette paper maker Schweitzer-Mauduit International Inc (SWM.N) said two of its French units agreed to buy the 28 percent minority interest in LTR Industries S.A., the company’s reconstituted tobacco leaf business in France, for about $50 million (35 million euros). [nWNAS5183]

** Dubai Drydocks World said it received acceptances for over 91 percent of shares in Singapore shipbuilder Labroy Marine LABR.SI, paving the way for Labroy to be taken private. [nSIN224402]

** Dutch chipmaker NXP will buy U.S.-based semiconductor developer GloNav, which specialises in global positioning system (GPS) chips, for up to $110 million in cash, it said in a statement. [nL21575469]
