March 24 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 2000 GMT on Tuesday.

** Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS.N) and China’s ICBC (1398.HK) have been in discussions about the New York bank reducing its stake in the world’s largest financial institution, according to a report.

** Global energy giants BP (BP.L), Eni (ENI.MI) and Shell (RDSa.L) are eyeing possible bids for Australia’s No.3 oil and gas firm Santos (STO.AX), which one analyst valued at around $7 billion, but a bid from China looks unlikely, dealmakers say. [ID:nHKG60405]

** A U.S. bankruptcy judge delayed his decision on the sale of bankrupt car parts maker Delphi Corp’s DPHIQ.PK steering business to General Motors (GM.N) until next week, after the U.S. Treasury Department sought more time to review the deal. [ID:nN24336044]

** Shares of Allergan Inc (AGN.N) jumped more than 16 percent amid market chatter that GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK.L) might be interested in acquiring the maker of Botox anti-wrinkle treatment. [ID:nN24465320]

** French carmaker Renault (RENA.PA) denied a Swedish media report that it was in talks to sell its near 22 percent stake in world No. 2 truckmaker Volvo (VOLVb.ST) to Investor AB (INVEb.ST). [ID:nLO596066]

** Consulting firm BearingPoint Inc BGPTQ.OB said it agreed to sell a large portion of its public services unit to Deloitte [DLTE.UL] for $350 million. [ID:nN23276871]

** U.S. Stifel Financial Corp (SF.N) will acquire up to 55 branches of UBS Wealth Management Americas to expand across the United States in a deal that will boost the investment bank’s profit in the first year. [ID:nBNG454195]

** Libya aims to purchase Canada’s Verenex Energy Inc VNX.TO as soon as possible, blocking a bid by China National Petroleum Corp, the head of Libya’s National Oil Company said. [ID:nLO459881]

** Greece’s biggest utility, Public Power Corp (PPC) (DEHr.AT), is interested in acquiring a stake in state-controlled natural gas firm DEPA, which is in search of a strategic investor. [ID:nLO960185]

** Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc (8306.T) is likely to take a 60 percent interest in the venture it is forming with Morgan Stanley (MS.N) to merge the banks’ brokerage subsidiaries in Japan, the financial daily Nikkei said in its Wednesday edition. [ID:nN24352256]
