BofA Merrill Lynch named Bill O’Neill as Chief Investment Officer, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Wealth Management. O’Neill, who joined Merrill Lynch in 2007, will be based in London. He had previously worked with Barclays Wealth, the wealth management arm of Barclays (BARC.L).
GLOBEOP FINANCIAL SERVICES GO.L The hedge fund services firm named Jan Zlotnick to the newly-created position of chief marketing officer. Zlotnick will be based in New York.
PANMURE GORDON & CO PMR.L
The investment bank named Paul Lumbis, who joins from Atlas Partners, as a managing director in the corporate finance team.
The bank named William Ross as Co-Head of Islamic Finance, Global Markets, with immediate effect. Ross, who joins from ABN Amro, will be based in Hong Kong.
ALVAREZ & MARSAL
The firm, which is managing Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc’s bankruptcy, named Paul Taaffe as a managing director to its restructuring and turnaround practice. Taaffe will be based in Munich.
The firm named Mohammad Khan as its new UK Islamic finance leader. Khan will take up the role with immediate effect.
MANULIFE ASSET MANAGEMENT SDN BHD (Malaysia) The subsidiary of Manulife Holdings Berhad (MNLF.KL) named Jason Chong as chief investment officer, effective from Feb. 8. Chong joins from UOB-OSK Asset management. He will be based in Malaysia.
PERELLA WEINBERG PARTNERS The firm named Sebastian Maurin as a managing director in its corporate advisory group. He will be based in London. Previously, he had worked with MPC Longberry.

OLD BROAD STREET RESEARCH LTD The investment fund research company named Ruli Viljoen as head of investment research. Viljoen has been with the firm since 2009, prior to which he was with TriAlpha Investment Advisors Ltd.
The firm also appointed Emma O’Neill, who was previously with AIB Investment Managers, as an analyst to its investment research team.
