The securities group said a team of 6 investment grade fixed income sales professionals from Bear Stearns has joined its debt capital markets division.
The asset management firm, led by veteran trader Paul Tudor Jones III, said it hired the former co-heads of Bear Stearns’ distressed debt group to build a new credit business. [ID: nN10336004]
The asset management group of TIAA-CREF named Nick Mencher managing director, head of consultant relations.
The mortgage lender announced continued expansion plans to hire between 75 and 100 people in Q3 2008. The majority of hires will be in the company’s Columbus, Ohio headquarters and Tampa, Forida location.
UBS UBSN.VX (UBS.N)
The Swiss bank named Dmitry Vinogradov co-head of Russia/CIS equity research. Vinogradov, who will be based in Moscow, will also become head of the strategy and banking teams in Russia. He joins in August and returns to UBS from Citibank.
ABN Amro Asset Management India named K C Reddy chief investment officer. Reddy joins from Charlemagne Capital (London).
STANDARD & POOR‘S
The unit of The McGraw-Hill Companies MHP.N named Tony Angel executive managing director and head of its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) business. Angel was previously with Linklaters.
The investment banking arm of Barclays Plc (BARC.L) named Wensheng Peng director and head of China research. Peng will be based in Hong Kong and joins from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. Barclays also named Howell James to the role of corporate affairs director. James joins from the cabinet office, government communications.
MORGAN STANLEY (MS.N)
The asset manager appointed Anthony Heredia as chief executive officer of its Indian mutual fund unit, the firm said in a statement on Tuesday. [ID:nBOM125496]

LAZARD LTD (LAZ.N)
The investment bank named Wouter Gabriels managing director in investment banking in Europe, effective Sept. 1. Gabriels was until recently president of the Chancery and chief of staff of Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt’s office in Belgium. He will work primarily out of France and Belgium.
