SHANGHAI, June 26 (Reuters) - Seven years after Beijing joined the World Trade Organisation, foreign strategic investors have been confined to small stakes in the following operators:
Vodafone (VOD.L): 3.3 percent
SK Telecom: 6.6 percent
Spain’s Telefonica SA (TEF.MC): 5 percent, and has guaranteed to increase to 7.2 percent. Post-restructuring stake dilution:
Telefonica: about 2.1 percent. If Telefonica increases its stake to 7.2 percent prior to the Unicom-Netcom merger, this would translate to a 3 percent stake in the merged company.
SK Telecom: around 3.8 percent
