Jan 9 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 2100 GMT on Wednesday.

** FairPoint Communications Inc FRP.N said it reached an agreement with the Vermont Department of Public Service regarding its proposed acquisition of Verizon Communication’s (VZ.N) wireline operations in Vermont. To read more, please double click on [nWNAS5939]

** MGM Mirage (MGM.N) and state-owned investment company Dubai World said that they plan to spend up to $800 million to jointly buy MGM shares in the latest move to increase Dubai’s stake in the casino company. [nN09573296]

** Electronics components maker Technitrol Inc TNL.N said it would buy Denmark-based Sonion A/S for $385 million in cash. [nWNAS5938]

** Norwegian information technology group EDB Business Partner EDBASA.OL said it had agreed to buy StatoilHydro’s STL.OL IT unit, IS Partner, for 1.19 billion Norwegian crowns ($221.8 million). [nL09512946]

** Hewlett-Packard Co (HPQ.N), the world’s biggest PC maker, is set to get a new partner for its China venture after the existing one said it is selling its 30 percent stake for at least 967 million yuan ($133 million). [nSHA248069]

** Property firm Lualca has bought 5 percent of Spanish real estate firm Realia (RLIA.MC) for 88.4 million euros ($130 million), Realia said. [nMDT004735]

** Generic drugmaker Perrigo Co PRGO.O said it has acquired UK-based pharmaceutical products maker Galpharm Healthcare Ltd for $86 million in cash to expand its global presence. [nWNAS6031]

** U.S. manufacturing giant United Technologies Corp (UTX.N) is buying an 11.17 percent stake in Japan’s Fujitec from activist fund Dalton Investments LLC for 7.3 billion yen ($67 million), according to a regulatory filing. [nT79604]

** Hampton Roads Bankshares Inc HMPR.O agreed to acquire peer Shore Financial Corp SHBK.O in a cash-and-stock deal worth about $53 million, strengthening its presence in Virginia. [nBNG178930]

** China’s biggest nickel refiner, Jinchuan Group, deepened its investment in Australian mining, agreeing to pay $15.5 million for 11 percent of Fox Resources Ltd FXR.AX as it chases access to raw materials. [nSYD145840]

** Philippine IT and gaming group IPVG IP.PS said it has acquired a Delaware-based IT firm for $10.5 million, the latest acquisition in its aggressive expansion strategy. [nMAN85373]

** Electronic broker-dealer Lime Brokerage has bought a minority interest in the CBOE Stock Exchange, a subsidiary of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, CBOE and Lime announced. [nN08516023]

** Accor Services, the vouchers arm of French hotel and services group Accor (ACCP.PA), said it had acquired a 62 percent stake in employee benefits provider Motivano UK from U.S. venture capital group GeoCapital Partners. [nL09389674]

** ArcelorMittal ISPA.AS MTP.PA, the world’s largest steel group said it had agreed to buy Venezuela’s steel pipe producer Unicon but did not disclose financial details. [nWEB1532]
