Feb 22 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 2100 GMT on Friday.

** Japan’s top steel producer Nippon Steel Corp (5401.T) and trading house Sumitomo Corp (8053.T) said they would each raise their stakes in coke producer Mitsui Mining Co (3315.T) to 21.7 percent from 12.9 percent.

** The planned takeover of British insurer Resolution RSL.L by rival Pearl has hit a fresh delay, the closed life insurer said, reviving worries the 4.9 billion-pound ($9.6 billion) deal could be derailed. [nL22896683]

** CHC Helicopter FLYa.TO Corp said that it will be bought by a fund managed by private equity firm First Reserve in an all-cash deal worth C$3.7 billion. [nN22569589]

** China’s Baosteel Group and China Shipping (Group) Company will form a marine firm to ship iron ore to the country’s largest steel maker, Baosteel, parent of Baoshan Iron and Steel (600019.SS), the company said. [nSHA31649]

** British American Tobacco, the world’s second largest cigarette group, won the auction for Turkish state-owned tobacco firm Tekel after beating off three Turkish rivals with the highest bid of $1.72 billion. [nL22859507]

** Royal Bank of Canada (RY.TO) agreed to buy Phillips, Hager & North Investment Management Ltd, one of Canada’s largest independent fund managers, in a surprise, all-stock deal worth about C$1.36 billion ($1.35 billion) at market prices. [nN21506094]

** Barrick Gold Corp (ABX.TO) will pay $1.7 billion to buy out Rio Tinto’s (RIO.L) 40 percent stake in their Cortez joint venture in Nevada, acquiring ownership of the potential million-ounce-a-year gold-mining project, Barrick. [nN21448037]

** Private equity firm Terra Firma and French utility Suez LYOE.PA are in talks to trump an agreed 1.2 billion pound ($2.4 billion) bid for British waste firm Biffa (BIFF.L), newspapers said. [nL22189639]

** Diversified manufacturer Roper Industries Inc (ROP.N) said it has acquired CBORD Group Inc, a supplier of card systems and integrated security, in a deal valued at $367 million. [nWNAS2048]

** Power generator China Guodian Corp plans to buy a 51 percent stake in Pingzhuang Coal Group for 2.1 billion yuan ($294 million), according to a filing by Pingzhuang Coal subsidiary Inner Mongolia Pingzhuang Energy Co Ltd 000780.SZ. [nSHA34478]

** French media group Lagardere (LAGA.PA) said it had agreed to buy 53.38 percent of Doctissimo DOC.PA, a French publisher of Web sites for women for a little over 70 million euros ($103.2 million). [nL2282538]

** British aircraft maintenance firm BBA Aviation (BBA.L) said it had agreed to buy the assets of Hawker Beechcraft Services Inc’s Line Service Operations for $128.5 million in cash. [nWLB7580]

** Indian private sector lender Centurion Bank of Punjab CENB.BO said its board would meet on Saturday to consider a possible merger with bigger rival HDFC Bank (HDBK.BO). [nBMB001046]

** ESS Technology Inc ESST.O, a maker of digital video processors and imaging sensor chips, said asset management firm Imperium Partners Group LLC agreed to acquire the company for $1.64 per share, representing a 37 percent premium over ESS’ Thursday closing. ** Irish healthcare group Alltracel ALAP.L became the latest in a string of biotech companies to admit to a funding crisis, agreeing a 20.8 million pound ($40.86 million) takeover by U.S. firm HemCon. [nL22857690]

** Furniture Brands International Inc’s FBN.N third-largest shareholder, Sun Capital Securities Group LLC, said it wanted to buy the company at a substantial premium, sending its shares up nearly 24 percent. [nN21414738]

** U.S. digital media company RealNetworks Inc (RNWK.O) said on Friday it has acquired the assets of online game technology company Trymedia from Macrovision Corp MVSN.O, doubling the scale of its games syndication business. [nN22276795]

** British broker Collins Stewart CLST.L has agreed to inject 5 million euros ($7.4 million) into troubled Irish specialist lender ISTC, taking full ownership of the company and securing its future.
