SINGAPORE, May 12 (Reuters) - Franklin Templeton Investments said on Tuesday it has appointed Sandeep Singh as country head for Malaysia.
Singh, who was previously with Templeton India, will build a local investment management team and try to secure investment mandates from institutional investors.
Franklin Templeton got a licence last year to operate in Malaysia’s asset-management market, which according to Securities Commission Malaysia was managing 224 billion ringgit ($64 billion) in funds at the end of 2008. (Reporting by Kevin Lim; Editing by Saeed Azhar)
