FACTBOX-Foreign stakes in China's telecoms sector

SHANGHAI, June 26 (Reuters) - Seven years after Beijing joined the World Trade Organisation, foreign strategic investors have been confined to small stakes in the following operators:

CHINA MOBILE (0941.HK: Cotización) (CHL.N: Cotización)

Vodafone (VOD.L: Cotización): 3.3 percent

CHINA UNICOM (0762.HK: Cotización) (CHU.N: Cotización)

SK Telecom: 6.6 percent

CHINA NETCOM (0906.HK: Cotización) (CN.N: Cotización)

Spain's Telefonica SA (TEF.MC: Cotización): 5 percent, and has guaranteed to increase to 7.2 percent. Post-restructuring stake dilution:


Telefonica: about 2.1 percent. If Telefonica increases its stake to 7.2 percent prior to the Unicom-Netcom merger, this would translate to a 3 percent stake in the merged company.   Continuación...
