UPDATE 2-Informatica Q2 profit beats Street view, sees strong Q3

July 17 (Reuters) - Informatica Corp INFA.O, a provider of data integration software, posted a 9 percent rise in second-quarter profit, beating market estimates, helped by an increase in license revenue, and forecast a strong third quarter.

Second-quarter results also reflected growing contribution by international regions, particularly Asia-Pacific, Informatica said in a conference call with analysts.

International regions accounted for 42 percent of total orders in the quarter, the company added.

Informatica, whose customers include Advanced Micro Devices Inc AMD.N, Deutsche Post (DPWGn.DE: Cotización) and Virgin Media VMED.O, added 287 new customers in the quarter, including 219 customers through its acquisition of Identity Systems, which it completed in May.

New customers include Allergan Inc (AGN.N: Cotización) and National Oilwell Varco Inc (NOV.N: Cotización), the company said in a statement.

For the second quarter, earnings rose to $11.5 million, or 12 cents a share, compared with $10.5 million, or 11 cents a share, a year ago.

Excluding items, it earned 17 cents a share.

Revenue rose 21 percent to $113.8 million. License revenue rose 16 percent to $48.5 million.   Continuación...
