** JBS (JBSS3.SA: Cotización), the world's biggest beef producer, said it had struck deals to buy two U.S. companies, Smithfield Beef Group and National Beef Packing Co, as well as Australia's Tasman Group, for a total of nearly $1.3 billion.

** The Investment Corp of Dubai (ICD) has agreed with leading shareholders of Spanish property firm Colonial (COL.MC: Cotización) on the broad terms of a 3 billion euro ($4.56 billion) takeover, Dow Jones reported. [nMDT004965]
** UK-based buyout firm Bridgepoint said it agreed to sell Tunstall Group to rival Charterhouse Capital Partners for 514 million pounds ($1.02 billion) including debt assumed by the buyer. [nL05330388]
