Feb 23 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 2100 GMT on Monday.

** Medtronic Inc (MDT.N: Cotización) said it is buying two privately held heart valve companies, including CoreValve Inc, a major player in the relatively new market for less-invasive valve replacement.

** Fertilizer maker CF Industries Holdings Inc (CF.N: Cotización) formally launched its hostile bid to buy rival Terra Industries Inc TRA.N and said it was still interested in holding talks with Terra to seal a deal. [ID:nN23347056]
** Swedish energy group Vattenfall said it will buy the production and supply arm of Dutch utility Nuon for 10.3 billion euros ($13.3 billion), creating Europe's largest producer of offshore wind power. [ID:nLN321481]
** Nova Chemicals Corp NCX.N NCX.TO said that it agreed to be bought by International Petroleum Investment Company in a deal which valued it at about $2.3 billion including debt. [ID:nN23331724]
