Nov 18 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, North American and Asian companies were reported by 2100 GMT on Tuesday.

** InBev NV INTB.BR has closed its purchase of U.S. brewer Anheuser-Busch Cos Inc (BUD.N) to create the world's largest brewer in the biggest cash acquisition in history, despite a global financial crisis that has stymied other deals.

** Ford Motor Co (F.N), scrambling for cash as the U.S.-based automakers struggle to stay alive, has agreed to sell about two-thirds of its stake in Japanese carmaker Mazda Motor Corp (7261.T) for around $538 million. [ID:nT295006]

** Chipmaker ON Semiconductor Corp ONNN.O dropped its hostile offer to acquire Atmel Corp ATML.O on Tuesday, leaving bidding partner Microchip Technology Inc (MCHP.O) to look for other ways to pursue a deal with Atmel. [ID:nN18154209]

** French warplane maker Dassault Aviation (AVMD.PA) is in exclusive talks with Alcatel-Lucent ALUA.PA to buy the telecoms equipment maker's 20.8 percent stake in radar maker Thales (TCFP.PA) for about 1.52 billion euros ($1.92 billion). [ID:nLI288211]

** Japanese video game maker Koei Co Ltd 9654.T will take over smaller rival Tecmo Ltd 9650.T in a stock deal worth 20 billion yen ($207 million), the two firms said, the latest in a series of consolidation moves in the industry. [ID:nT316836]

** British highways infrastructure group Hill & Smith (HILS.L) agreed to sell Express Reinforcements Limited to privately owned Celsa Group for 12.8 million pounds ($19.3 million) and said it would use the proceeds to reduce debt. [ID:nLI698905]

** British trains and bus company Arriva Plc ARI.L has bought LNWR, a train maintenance company set up by music producer Pete Waterman, for 2.4 million pounds ($3.6 million) and the assumption of about 2 million pounds of debt. [ID:nLI683639]

** Britain's Carphone Warehouse Plc CPW.L may split off its telecoms arm to focus on its retail venture with U.S. group Best Buy Co Inc (BBY.N), it said as it warned of tough trading. [ID:nLH647683]

** British publishing and exhibitions group United Business Media Plc (UBM.L), which abandoned a planned merger with UK peer Informa Plc (INF.L) earlier this year, said it was buying Xinhua PR Newswire, China's largest corporate announcement service, for $6 million in cash. [ID:nLI301293]
