Feb 1 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 2100 GMT on Friday.

** Technology giant Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O: Cotización) said that it had offered to acquire Internet media company Yahoo Inc (YHOO.O: Cotización) for $44.6 billion in cash and stock.

** China's biggest aluminium producer teamed up with U.S. group Alcoa (AA.N: Cotización) to buy a 12 percent stake in Rio Tinto (RIO.L: Cotización) on Friday, threatening miner BHP Billiton's (BLT.L: Cotización) efforts to win Rio.

Aluminum Corp of China's (Chinalco) $14 billion move comes days before a regulatory deadline next Wednesday for BHP to make a firm offer for Rio or to walk away. [nL01435125]

** Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE: Cotización) acquired California-based hedge fund administrator HedgeWorks LLC with more than $10 billion in assets under administration, the bank said on Friday without disclosing the transaction price. [nL01829314]
