SOCIETE GENERALE (SOGN.PA)
SG Private Banking, the wealth management arm of the Societe Generale Group appointed Nipun Mehta as executive director to head its private banking business in India. Mehta is based in Mumbai and will be reporting to Singapore-based Balakrishnan Kunnambath, managing director and global market manager for India. Prior to joining SG Private Banking India, Mehta was chief executive officer of a company managing wealth for individuals and non-resident Indians.
Marsh has appointed Jeff Colburn as U.K. leader of its Risk Consulting practice in succession to George Davies. Based in London, Colburn will report both to Martin South, chief executive of Marsh U.K. and John Merkovsky, global head of Risk Consulting. Most recently, Colburn served as the Washington DC-based chief operating officer for Risk Consulting's specialty practices.
CQS has hired former Barclays Capital managing director David Kilgore as its head of trading in Hong Kong, part of a broader push by the $9.6 billion UK hedge fund manager to expand its presence in high-growth Asia. [ID:nPEK79809]

Cowen Group Inc appointed Andrew Barish as a managing director in Consumer Investment Banking. Based in Cowen's San Francisco office, Barish will lead the firm's restaurant practice and report to Geoff Flynn , head of Consumer Investment Banking.
