Dec 19 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 2100 GMT on Wednesday.

** Morgan Stanley (MS.N: Cotización) said that Chinese sovereign wealth fund China Investment Corp Ltd was buying $5 billion in equity units which are convertible to stock in the brokerage.

** British oil rig builder and operator Abbot Group Plc ABTG.L said it had agreed to a 906 million pound ($1.82 billion) management buyout backed by private equity firm First Reserve, an energy specialist. [nL19872071]
